「電子の海で会いましょう」/See you in the electronic sea

今となってはネット上で人と交流することが当たり前になりましたが、ちょうどその過渡期に描いた作品です。展示の告知をとある小さなコミュニティサイトで行い、実際に足を運んでくださった方々がいることを嬉しく思って描きました。

インターネットは何かと海に例えられますが、0と1で出来た電子の海にたくさんの生きた人が溶けており、愛も憎悪もこちらに即時向けられるということを考えると、海の広さと多様性に目眩がするような思いが今でもします。

Nowadays, interacting with people online has become commonplace, but this work was created during that transitional period. I had announced the exhibition on a small community site, and was delighted to see that people actually came to visit, so I painted this work.

The internet is often likened to the ocean, and when I think about the fact that so many living people are dissolved in this electronic sea of ​​0s and 1s, and that both love and hate can be directed towards us instantly, I still feel dizzy at the vastness and diversity of the ocean.
